We’re celebrating Pride Month 2021 in true Sing King style – with karaoke. At our core, we believe in the power to Sing It Your Way and Pride month is all about celebrating being you!
That’s why we’ve created a brand new exclusive playlist of the 25 best pride karaoke songs, celebrating the biggest and best anthems by LGBTQ+ icons and allies. From Lady Gaga to Troye Sivan – bop along, sing it loud and celebrate the LGTBTQ+ community with us.
Even if we can’t all be together for Pride, we can still celebrate the full rainbow with some of the biggest and best names.
Plus, for the month of Pride, we’ll be donating £1 with every stream of the playlist in our app (up to the value of £1,000) to Rainbow Riots, a global non-profit organisation advocating for human rights for LGBTQ+ people around the world through arts and culture.
Rainbow Riots envisions a world where every human lives free from prejudice. Their mission is to increase the visibility of LGBTQ+ people around the world. They use arts and culture such as music to get their message across by providing a platform for creative voices, especially in places where their human rights are compromised. So literally singing Rain On Me via our app will support their vital work. Yay!
By deploying a combination of human rights activism, arts and culture, their mission is to empower, celebrate and build momentum for change for an often marginalised and persecuted group.
You can learn more about Rainbow Riots, and donate to their important work here.

1. girl in red – i wanna be your girlfriend
Kicking off our Top Pride Karaoke Songs playlist is Norwegian queer icon and bedroom pop artist, girl in red, with ‘i wanna be your girlfriend’. OK so as a song about unrequited love, it’s admittedly not the most uplifting start to our list. But hey, that’s life sometimes. And it’s a beautiful indie earworm. In the words of Marie, “it’s about me falling in love with my straight best friend and how I just really wanted to see her that summer, but she had a boyfriend, and I didn’t meet her once and I was so sad.”
2. United Kingdolls – UK Hun?
Tayce! Bimini Bon-Boulash! Lawrence Cheney! A’Whora! Name a more iconic foursome. We’ll wait. Next on our Pride Karaoke Songs playlist are the United Kingdolls aka four of the most iconic huns to emerge from Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK. And with lyrics like ‘bing bang bong, sing sang, song, ding dang dong’ we guarantee it’ll be a long long long… time before you’ll be getting this out of your heads.
3. Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande – Rain On Me
If our Pride karaoke songs playlist was a video game, then ‘Rain On Me’ would be the final level ultimate gay anthem boss. A pairing we simply stan, when Lady Gaga announced the Chromatica tracklist, Little Monsters and Arianators around the world united in their collective excitement at their internet-breaking collaboration.
4. Troye Sivan – Youth
Put your pedestals away. Troye Sivan is politely declining the role of gay icon. In an interview for Another Man magazine, he said that ‘no one person should represent an entire community, and that there are plenty of other people who need to be heard first.’ Humility icon more like? Next up on our Pride karaoke songs is he-of-elfin-beauty, with ‘Youth’. A song about the joy in naivety and being lost.
5. Kacey Musgraves – Rainbow
LGBTQ+ ally, Country Queen and Grammy Award winner Kacey Musgraves is next on our list with ‘Rainbow’. An eloquent love letter to her LGBTQ+ fans, acknowledging the oppression queer people face. She said, “I feel a kinship and a friendship with that community. They really opened my eyes up to a lot of different things that I wasn’t aware of growing up in a small town in Texas. I will always be an ally and a strong supporter.” What a woman.
6. Cher – Believe
Bow down to the original icon, Cher. She single handedly made autotune fashionable with ‘Believe’, her 2007 comeback classic. She looks as fabulous today as she did 50 years ago. (Cher, if you’re reading this, give us your skin care routine). A regular performer at gay pride festivals around the world, what Pride Karaoke Songs list would be complete without this legend?
7. Jess Glynne – Hold My Hand
Gay anthems require a sprinkle of self acceptance. A dash of perseverance. A pinch of struggle, followed by euphoric triumph. Which is where Jess Glynne’s ‘Hold My Hand’ comes in. According to Slate, the amazing pop confection ‘is easily the best gay anthem of the decade’.
8. Carly Rae Jepsen – Run Away With Me
Number 8 on our Pride Karaoke Songs is the certified bop that is ‘Run Away WIth Me’ by Carly Rae Jepsen. Having previewed her track ‘Now That I Found You’ on Queer Eye, Carly Rae has been a cult hero in queer circles for a while now. The sax heavy ‘Run Away With Me’ is the second song off E•MO•TION, the comeback album that cemented her place in the LGBTQ+ Hall of Fame.
10. Diana Ross – I’m Coming Out
I’m Coming Out by living legend Diana Ross is a gay anthem for obvious reasons. Written by Nile Rodgers, he reportedly got the idea when he saw three men who looked like Diana Ross while standing at the urinal in a gay club. While we can’t vouch for that, no Pride Karaoke Songs playlist would be complete without it.
11. Kesha – We R Who We R
‘We R Who We R’ was written in the wake of a series of gay teen suicides across hte US. She said at the time of the single’s release: “Young people need a role model to tell them they’re beautiful exactly the way they are and that they don’t have to be apologetic about themselves. So I wanted to write a super-positive anthem.” And that she did.
12. Lady Gaga – Born This Way
Arguably the apex of gay anthems, Mother Monster gets a second entry in our Top Pride Karaoke Songs playlist for the defiant ‘Born This Way’. With lyrics like ‘No matter gay, straight, or bi / lesbian, transgendered life / I’m on the right track baby / I was born to survive’ pop songs don’t come as inclusive and celebratory as this one.
13. Robyn – Dancing On My Own
Number 13 in our Pride Karaoke Songs playlist is Robyn’s ‘Dancing On My Own’. Queer icon Robyn has been a firm favourite of Sing King’s for years. On first listen, ‘Dancing On My Own’ packs a pop punch that wouldn’t be out of place in a nightclub (and indeed, we’ve spent many a night euphorically dancing our socks off to it). But the lyrics tell an altogether different story – one of sadness and loneliness, leading this to be arguably the first in the ‘inherently sad gay disco anthem’ genre.
14. Charli XCX – Boys
Going to the other end of the emotional scale, Charli XCX’s track ‘Boys’ is a song about daydreaming over cute boys. Because every Pride Karaoke Songs playlist needs one of them, right? The music video was the gift that kept giving. Charlie Puth washing a car? Check. MNEK being licked by puppies? Check. Tom Daley dripping with water… hello.
15. Hailee Steinfeld – Love Myself
‘Love Yourself’ is the debut from Hailee Stinfeld and a certified LGBT bop. In the words of Hailee herself ‘For a minute, people were like ‘This is a great feminist song, it’s good for young girls. It is, it absolutely is, but I really feel like it’s something for everyone: guys and girls, gay and straight.
16. Lizzo – Truth Hurts
A Pride Karaoke Songs playlist should be chock full of songs about empowerment. And they don’t come much more empowering than ‘Truth Hurts’. I mean, do lyrics come any more iconic than ‘I just took a DNA test, turns out I’m 100% that bitch’? As Queen Lizzo once said herself, “It’s called Pride, not hide. Everybody, more than ever, is wearing their hearts on their sleeves and wearing their messages on their backs.”
17. ABBA – Dancing Queen
We couldn’t NOT include disco giants of the 70s, ABBA, in our Top Pride Karaoke Songs list. And what better track than ‘Dancing Queen’, the apex of gay anthems, and an upbeat song that will have dancefloors twirling for generations to come.
18. Village People – Y.M.C.A.
Another golden Pride Karaoke Song oldie comes from Village People, with their timeless classic ‘Y.M.C.A.’ Describing the YMCA as a place where you can hang out with all the boys, it’s not hard to see why this is one of the original gay anthems.
19. Sam Smith – Diamonds
Diamonds is the first track off ‘Love Goes’, Sam Smith’s 2020 album documenting a brutal heartbreak, and is a queer break-up up bop about leaving someone who’s shallow and materialistic. File under: heartbreak songs to sing away the drama with.
20. Conan Gray – Maniac
We’re into the final stretch of our Pride Karaoke Songs playlist, and who better to see us in, than former YouTuber turned musician Conan Gray, which earned over 100 million streams. ‘Maniac’ is a total ‘80s fever dream and another top break-up song.
21. Kylie Minogue – Can’t Get You Out Of My Head
All hail Kylie. One of the most enduring and beloved gay icons, we just Can’t Get Her Out Of Our Heads. There are so many bangers from the pint sized pop star, but ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’ makes it onto our Pride Karaoke Songs list, mainly because of the iconic dance moves from the video – which, we may add, are mandatory to bust out when singing this in karaoke.
22. Harry Styles – Golden
Ah, Harry. Harry is our queer posterchild, embracing fermininity and rocking a skirt and clutch quite like no other. ‘Golden’ is our Pride list pick. An upbeat number and source of joy, we strongly recommend closing your eyes whilst singing it and imagining Harry’s serenade is about you.
23. Christina Aguilera – Genie In A Bottle
Next on our Pride Karaoke Songs playlist is Xtina with her timeless, iconic debut track ‘Genie In A Bottle’ which catapulted her to global super stardom in 1999. Christina’s on our list thanks to the many times she’s shown up for the LGBTQ+ community. In 2004 she lent her face to MAC Cosmetics’ Glam Lipstick, the proceeds of which went towards fighting HIV/AIDS. And for her single ‘Let There Be Love’, she even dedicated the track directly to her LGBTQ+ fans.
24. Lauv, Troye Sivan – i’m so tired…
When gay pop prince Troye Sivan announced Lauv has his ‘new BF’, we, along with the entire internet, collectively lost our minds. It turned out that the showmance was actually promotion for their single ‘i’m so tired’. But who’s complaining? We’re certainly not.
25. Demi Lovato – I Love Me
Closing off our Pride Karaoke Songs playlist is none other than Demi Lovato, with their 2020 hit ‘I Love Me’. This is one to belt out for all those who want to feel empowered and celebrate loving yourself.
