What’s not to love about the festive season?! And when it comes to karaoke, there’s no other season quite like it for producing some of the best singalongs.   1. Wham! – Last Christmas

 

We’re kicking things off courtesy of the late, great George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley aka Wham! With one of the greatest Christmas karaoke songs of all times. Originally kept off the No 1 spot by Band Aid’s Do They Know It’s Christmas? In 1984, ‘Last Christmas’ hit the top of the charts last year in 2020 – 36 years after it was released.

Following in the footsteps of another Christmas Queen and pop diva, Mariah Carey, Ari released a whole EP dedicated to the art of the Christmas song, ‘Christmas Kisses’. First up in our list is ‘Santa Baby’, featuring her Victorious co-star, Elizabeth Gillies.

Get your fake Santa beard on like Lil Nas X did in ‘HOLIDAY’, his 2020 Christmas-themed single with a wacky video to boot in which he takes a ride across America in a high-tech sleigh, complete with robot reindeer. Ho ho ho!

 

  1. Katy Perry – Cozy Little Christmas

 

Trust us to dig out all the lesser known Christmas tracks on our 40 best Christmas karaoke songs list. Next up is Katy Perry with her festive jam, ‘Cozy Little Christmas’ which was released exclusively on Amazon Music in 2018. Sadly there was no sign of a Jeff Bezos feature on the track, but hey, there’s always this year.

Let’s take it down a notch and slow it right down for this next banger, ‘Silent Night’. Christmas songs don’t come much more classic than this carol, which was composed in 1818 by Franz Xaver Gruber.

While she’s not busy re-recording her albums, Taylor has been recording Christmas songs. In 2019, she released ‘Christmas Tree Farm’ which sent the internet into a deep dive into the hidden meaning. In response, Taylor herself tweeted that “I actually did grow up on a Christmas tree farm. In a gingerbread house, deep within the yummy gummy gumdrop forest. Where, funnily enough, this song is their national anthem.” So there you have it.

Also bringing out a Christmas tune that same year, was Taylor’s ex Joe Jonas with his band of merry brothers. ‘Like It’s Christmas’ is actually the fourth festive song from the trio.

Definitively titled ‘THE Christmas Song’, Nat King Cole’s 1961 tune is an oldie but a goodie. And with universally wholesome and warming lyrics like ‘Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Jack Frost nipping at your nose, Yuletide carols being sung by a choir and folks dressed up like Eskimos’, it’s no surprise that this Christmas song has endured the test of time.

Judy is the original musical queen, and number 17 in our Best Christmas Karaoke Songs list with ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas’. Originally sung by her in her 1944 movie ‘Meet Me in St. Louis’, the original version of the song was so sad that Judy actually refused to sing it.

We have to give it to Ari, it’s not easy to make a genuinely good modern day Christmas song – there are plenty of questionable ones out there, but festive sentiment aside, this is a pop banger with a great hook and melody.
