Avicii – Wake Me Up
EDM and Country…two genres that feel like they shouldn’t go together, but somehow totally do! Although audiences were initially unsure, ‘Wake Me Up’ went on to become a global chart topper, peaking at number one in 22 countries and number 4 on the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart. Featuring Aloe Blacc’s soulful vocals, this upbeat folktronica anthem is sure to get any karaoke party going!
Justin Timberlake – Mirrors
Inspired by both his marriage to Jessica Biel and his grandparent’s marriage, Justin brought us a timeless hit with this mid-tempo R&B ballad. Ariana Grande ft. Mac Miller – The Way
Sampling Big Pun’s 1998 song ‘Still Not a Player’(that itself samples Brenda Russell’s ‘A Little Bit of Love’), ‘The Way’ is an infectiously catchy and upbeat love song that pays homage to R&B and pop songs of the 90s. Applause… exactly what you want to hear after your karaoke set! Written during a six-month hiatus after her hip surgery, this song is inspired by Gaga’s dependency on her fans and how she lives to perform. It’s catchy, camp, and a classic Gaga bop.
Demi Lovato – Heart Attack
An electropop song that uses cardiac motifs to represent the fear of falling in love, ‘Heart Attack’ is one of the biggest hits of Demi’s career and a fan favourite. So much so, that in honour of its 10 year anniversary, Demi released a rock version of ‘Heart Attack’ this year. Powerful and emotional, this is a karaoke song that demands to be belted!

Drake and Majid Jordan – Hold On, We’re Going Home
In an interview with MTV, Drake revealed that he was channelling Quincy Jones and Michael Jackson with this track, and wanted to produce a song that could be played at weddings 10 years on. Well, here we are 10 years on, and Drizzy’s smooth and soulful R&B track has proven itself to be a timeless bop! This chill karaoke number is a guaranteed crowd pleaser!
Katy Perry ft. Juicy J – Dark Horse
Inspired by the 90s teen supernatural horror film The Craft, ‘Dark Horse’ saw Katy combine her usual pop sound with hip-hop and dark witchy lyrics. Written from the perspective of a witch warning a man not to fall in love with her, this sultry track is a memorable hit from 2013, and a great choice if you wanna prove that you’re a karaoke dark horse!

A decade later, and whether you agree or disagree, this song certainly still feels like the Best Song Ever! A fan favourite, this song is so irresistibly catchy, fun and nostalgic that it’ll have you dancing- and karaoking- all night!
Birdy – Wings
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Birdy expressed that ‘Wings’ is ‘about having a wonderful time and the memory of being with your friends’, wishing you were back home. With a beautiful melody and lyrics, this is a karaoke ballad that is sure to tug at your heartstrings.

This has to be not just one of the most romantic songs of the past decade, but ever! Written for his then-fiance, now wife Crissy Teigan, this tender, powerful piano love ballad is a karaoke favourite that’s emotional and captivating. A popular wedding song, we’ll all continue to love this song for the next 10 years and more.
Ellie Goulding – Burn
Originally recorded and later dropped by Leona Lewis, ‘Burn’ appears on Halcyon Days, the reissue of Ellie Goulding’s second studio album, Halcyon. This radio-friendly track earned Goulding her first number one single on the UK Singles Chart, and reached number 13 on the US Billboard Hot 100 charts. With catchy, repetitive lyrics and a synth-pop beat, this is a passionate and inspiring karaoke song.
Arctic Monkeys – Do I Wanna Know?
Come on…even just thinking about this song makes you hear the iconic guitar riff! The second single from the British band’s album AM, ‘Do I Wanna Know?’ scored Arctic Monkeys their first appearance on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. We can’t stop, and we won’t stop singing this karaoke song! The cultural impact of Miley’s Bangerz era was just so significant that she earns herself another spot on our list. Distancing herself from her Hannah Montana days, this song is all about ‘Doing whatever we want’ and partying hard. This track was originally written with Rihanna in mind before it was offered to record producer, Mike Will Made It, who eventually offered it to Miley.

When you’re ready come and get into this karaoke! The debut solo single for Selena’s debut solo studio album, Stars Dance, this song showcases Selena’s powerful vocals. It’s a nostalgic, upbeat bop with an infectious chorus that’ll have the room singing along.

Bastille – Pompeii
‘Eh, eheu, eheu’! We can’t believe ‘Pompeii’ is 10 years old! The breakthrough hit for the British pop rock band, this song’s title and lyrics reference the famous Roman city that was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79AD. Described in an interview with The Telegraph by the group’s lead vocalist, Dan Smith, as being ‘essentially about fear of stasis and boredom’, this song is another Tumblr classic. Its driving beat and memorable lyrics make it a karaoke song you just need to belt out.
