The Cranberries – Zombie
It would be impossible for our list of 15 Great Karaoke Songs by Irish Artists to not feature The Cranberries and their legendary 90s alternative rock protest song, ‘Zombie’. Written by the band’s lead singer, Dolores O’Riordan, about The Troubles in Northern Ireland, this song is passionate and emotional, combining immense vocals (including traditional Gaelic keening) and guitar riffs for the ultimate powerhouse karaoke.
Niall Horan – This Town
Kick-starting his career as a solo artist after One Direction, ‘This Town’ was Niall’s debut single, and was a success – peaking at number 9 on the UK Official Singles Chart and number 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart! A song about pining over an old flame, this mellow track and its gentle melodies provide a more relaxed karaoke moment.

The Script – The Man Who Can’t Be Moved
The second single from the Irish band’s debut album, this heartfelt ballad focuses on a broken-hearted man waiting and hoping for his love to return to him. With romantic, bittersweet lyrics and a fantastic melody, this is a song that’ll keep you from mooooviiiiing away from the karaoke mic!
Cian Ducrot – I’ll Be Waiting
We won’t keep you waiting for the next song on our list! Next on our list is the band to end all Irish boy bands – Westlife! Selling over 55 million records worldwide and having had 14 UK number one singles, Westlife is one of the UK’s most successful groups of all-time! A romantic power ballad and ode to the band’s homeland, ‘My Love’ was their seventh UK number one hit. It’s cheesy, patriotic, and everything we want in a Great Irish Karaoke song!
Ronan Keating – When You Say Nothing At All
Want to feel like the main character of your own Rom-Com? Look no further! Recorded for the soundtrack of the 1999 film Notting Hill, this version of the romantic ballad by Boyzone frontman, Ronan Keating, was a number one hit in the UK, Ireland, and New Zealand, and is the perfect heartfelt karaoke track.

Dermot Kennedy – Better Days
Written during the COVID-19 pandemic, ‘Better Days’ is an uplifting pop ballad that encapsulated the optimism we needed during lockdown. Explained in a press release by Kennedy as a song about patience, ‘believing in something brighter, and never losing sight of better days, no matter how hard things might get’, this song’s positive message is sure to make it a karaoke crowd-pleaser.
The Script – Breakeven
The Script joins our list again with another banger from their debut album. Snow Patrol – Chasing Cars
‘Chasing Cars’ is the Northern Irish/Scottish band’s biggest selling single, peaking at number 6 on the UK Official Singles Chart, and number 5 on the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart – with the song gaining significant US popularity after being featured in the medical drama TV series Grey’s Anatomy. Westlife – Flying Without Wings
